Where is command?

Open loktar00 opened this issue 11 years ago • 10 comments

In a few of the IRC rooms I frequent there is a handy command the bot has "where is" we use it basically to figure out when someone was there last. For example if I notice user A hasn't been to the chat in a while I could ask

!!whereis A?
User A was last seen saying
link to chat message

giving an indication of how long they've been gone and the last thing said. Or better yet if its possible to pull in the last time they were seen on SO, and the last message said.

shrugs not sure if its a good idea or not since we have the luxury of being able to actually check the site unlike IRC.

Query: would we want to limit this to their last message in the given room, or the last message on the given chat site (se vs so) regardless of room.

@rlemon I like the latter option.

Regardless of room is how it works on IRC (because the bot runs in mult rooms). It seems to make a bit more sense too because then you know they're alive.
