Starting base option
There was the idea to have an option to start with a bit of base already built. The use cases would be
- small teams can be made to feel more like lobpot so players feel at home
- newbies can learn a basic starter layout (could include orders so e.g. the fac starts on repeat)
- coop vs AI players get an extra way to get some challenge, especially good because it makes the AI less vulnerable to rush (perhaps could even apply to chickens and replace grace/tech period)
- ditto but for randomized/roguelite campaign
- planet wars battles could have attacker/defender starting forces dependent on dropships or planetary infrastructure level respectively (perhaps attacker gets offensive units instead of base)
- could be explored as an alternative to income handicap for imbalanced 1v1
- and of course if it's a modoption then people (e.g. supcom players who want "scale") can just enable it to have some fun
