Air Reef problems

Open sprunk opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

  1. the default right-click command for a Hercules is to land on Reef since it's an airpad.
  2. gunships can't land on it. They arrive at the pad, shake a bit and fall down.
  3. planes can land on it fine, but are stuck because a stunned airpad doesn't actually refuel them. image

The shaking is probably a radius thing. Gunships have a small radius for detecting that they are close to a pad and turning on move ctrl. This radius could be buffed when attempting to land on a Reef.

It works on a regular Reef though.

Ah right, you are only talking about air reef.

Aircraft could just be kicked off when it is picked up, and the pads disabled until it is dropped. There might be a clean way to pipe Loaded/Unloaded into the same stuff as Destroyed/Created in the airpad gadget. I assume something like this is done for capture too.

I've heard a claim that a damaged transport carrying a Reef will do some insane movectrl jukes and clip into terrain if given the command to land at nearest airpad. https://discord.com/channels/278805140708786177/278908415756206080/1407181735635976353
