A variant for French?
Could we get a variant for French? In French (at least in France and in Belgium), the opening quotation mark (U+00AB) must be followed by a FOUR-PER-EM SPACE, and the closing quotation mark (U+00BB) must be preceded by a FOUR-PER-EM SPACE. The Unicode FOUR-PER-EM SPACE glyph (U+2005) is omitted from many fonts and is breakable—therefore, the use of the NO-BREAK SPACE (U+00A0) has established itself on the web: «\xA0La vie est plus belle que la prudence.\xA0»
(By the way, using the code GF for French is misleading. In the ISO 3166-2 standard, the GF entry is used for French Guiana.)
