Render aeroway=aircraft_crossing
Hello,
I would like to propose that the map begin rendering the tag aeroway=aircraft_crossing.
The tag allows for mappers to indicate where a road or path intersects with an aeroway. The most famous examples are the Gilbratar airport which is bisected by a major highway, but these rare situations are important in the local area for routing/route planning purposes.
The tag was approved and since then has been implemented by the community around the world. As these crossings are not common, the overall numbers are not high, but have been applied to nearly every example I can find.
The proposal also included a possible icon. for these crossings, adapted from the "level crossing" icon.

This would require a change to OpenMapTiles, as aeroway=aircraft_crossing
is not yet present in its schema.
railway=level_crossing
et al. are also missing from OpenMapTiles, for what it's worth. If aircraft crossings are added to OpenMapTiles, railway crossings should probably be added as well.
Beyond the valid points made about this tag not being present in the schema, and the low proliferation of the tag, I would question whether it would be cartographically appropriate for this style to render crossings. If a railroad or runway crosses a road, do we really need to place an icon at the intersection? Are there examples of either on maps, American-style or otherwise?
Apologies, I was not aware that level crossings themselves were not yet rendered!
