Another case of softlocking
If disc is ejected when path selection option is invoked, the application will softlock/freeze.

Have you tried the nightly version of ManaGunZ? There were a couple of changes to GetKey dumping after the release of v1.41. Also, which CFW are you using?
I just tried the nightly - same deal console completely freezes.
Not sure what version of Rebug I'm running (or how to check) , but it's got to be above 3.56 as I dump successfully with this method http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title=PlayStation_3_Dumping_Guide#Dumping_with_a_PS3_Console:MultiMAN_Method.28Old_Method.29
@Seventy7Games, you can use Rebug Toolbox to get more accurate system information. Does vanilla GetKey obtain the information correctly? To which path/device are you attempting to dump GetKey to?
Hopefully @Zarh can fix the issue with more information about your system.
I'll come back on managunz (finally) really soon, I'll try to fix these freezes. I hope i'll be able to reproduce them. That's why as mentionned by @rhynec I need every information you can get :p
I need 2 things from you.
- can you enable DEBUG in system and then try "generate getkey dump". You'll probably see a loading screen with messages. Can you tell me which one is the latest displayed (on the top).
- I need to know which firmware you are using ? Maybe there issue is caused by wrong offsets used in erk dumper. To know, download and install rebug toolbox : https://github.com/Joonie86/Rebug-Toolbox/releases and go to information system https://youtu.be/EC8wvaxS1ds?t=221 . I need Ps3 system and lv2kernel, for example, 4.76 CEX.
I turned on debug and the getkey dumped fine. I turned off debug and the getkey dumped fine. i rebooted and dumped the getkey again fine.
Not sure what the problem is but working fine now.
Hmmm ok. I hate this kind of bug. I leave the issue open anyway, I'll try to reproduce the issue reported in the 1st message.

Same thing happens to me. Also happens when trying to use any of the 3 backup/dump options.
