Misleading claims on /about
https://www.openstreetmap.ng/about contains fraudulent claims like:
This site and many other related services are formally operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF)
It is not correct, and it is problematic to be misrepresenting the OSM-NG project as if it is being formally operated by OSMF.
While it is (in my opinion) likely a simple copy/paste mistake (the opinion which is not universally shared, I must report with sadness), it does not make it any less illegal. Nor does OSM Trademark policy allow such exceptions for testing websites.
Thus, it should be fixed ASAP (maximum priority) by removing the misrepresentations; since waiting for nicer "low priority" https://github.com/openstreetmap-ng/openstreetmap-ng/issues/176 is not acceptable. If nothing else, it should be replaced by "Lorem Ipsum" or made to return 404 not found, until better solution is devised.

Ahhh, indeed that statement is very wrong. I will not provide an exact timeline but I'm working on it and a few other issues 👍.
Given the newly added guardrails against accidental visitors, I don't think it's necessary anymore to update the about page. The OSM-NG project is testing on real data and real translations; testers need to be aware of that. The test site is not meant to be used by normal users in everyday scenarios.

I respectfully disagree. While the guardrails are nice touch (and thanks for making those!), I still think "about" page should not be intentionally displaying non-truthful and misleading things.

Sure, but why do you think it is a problem? That "about" page already has parts of the text changed (e.g. mentioning openstreetmap-ng instead of openstreetmap, some links to local test site instead of links to openstreetmap.org sites etc) so it is not completely the same as osm.org one.
So I don't see why references to "OSMF" cannot be also be changed by references to "Kamil" or similar?
Or even whole misleading sections "Legal" and "Partners" completely removed from the page (or replaced by Lorem Ipsum filler if specific amount of text is required for testing of scrolling or whatever. Lorem ipsum does not need to be translated either).
