Entry Is Not Found

When I search for accounts after installing the latest LDAPCPSE, I find accounts, but they come up as Entry is not found with the dreaded redline under the account, and I cannot use the account for permissions.

Have you seen this with other SharePoint sytems? We are running this on SharePoint Subscription Edition, brand new installation.
