We are cleaning up this project here which will include all of that:

Feedback on direction here is very much appreciated. We really want to drop the PEAR.php stuff and modernize the library a bit. We are worried with backwards compatibility, though, hence starting a separate project for this.
If you have experience writing PHP modules, now is a perfect time to help and shape the next generation of this library.

@jas4711 Should suggestions and concerns be raised here or in the new project repo? I may have a few sugestions in regards to "modernize"
I think we really want this project (php-yubico) to be backwards compatible, and to remain a "drop-in" upgrade path for all the people using current or older versions of the project.
Full backwards compatibility probably means we can't clean up this project as much as we want too -- hence a new project.
So if your concern is about "modernization", let's take those in the new project, but if it is about functionality in the old client, let's take it here. Note the issue in the new project about reusing another third-party php library instead -- we might end up working on that one instead of finishing the new project.
Sorry about confusion here -- my main message is that we are happy to get help here, and we are open to most ideas (that are sane :)).

+666 indeed, what is taking so long? You are a commercial company, we are recommending your product to our users, please get of your ass and do something...
+1 Please add composer support so that we don't need to worry about upgrades.

Any updates to brag about? Four years have passed, the above mentioned repo is gone (or at least not public).
how about that? - took min 2 min to generate one ...
I think that project is dead ...
I think I'll use https://github.com/enygma/yubikey instead. Covers what I need and is already in packagist...
@brother I believe this is what I ended up using at the end of the day last year. Good luck on your development, although I have found that there is a cURL specific bug where the requests cannot be made on a windows environment.
I can't believe a new release was made without taking composer-support into consideration :(
