Extract clade from beast object

I read all the vignettes and know about the viewClade function, but I was looking for something like extract.clade from ape to completely separate a clade, and not only the image of the clade. I tried using drop.tip from the treeio package but I keep getting the same error that the function doesn't work for objects of type beast. So I think a great addition to ggtree would be the ability to extract clades and drop tips from a tree/beast object before you turn them in images with ggtree(). Thanks!
