Question about flights over country

Open szarka77 opened this issue 7 years ago • 12 comments

What does this mean: image There have certainly not been 29,171 flights over the country in two days so what does that number mean?

Thanks.

This is the number of data send by flights over a country. I should make some change for that...

So it is position report data?

yes

I am seeing more flight over couttries which are not possible. My receiver is in Germany so the map shows most neighbouring countries, but also Russia, Kazachstan and Canada. The later are not possible. Is there a way of finding these flights in the database in order to see what went wrong ? I have set the range to 450km.

It's flight data over countries. I check when I receive a data from a flight over which country it is. I could rename this stats with "data over countries" ?

Should be better with latest commit for new stats. I will fix this fully soon.

I thought the table is based on received aircraft position data. This fitted until Canada and Kazachstan appeared in the list - both countries are to far away. Even the false spikes which sometimes occur are not that far away. What data are you using for this table ?

me2tkt avatar Dec 27 '16 16:12 me2tkt

It's based on latitude/longitude in spotter_live table and countries limit in countries table. If you are in germany and this is not the country with most aircraft, there is a problem somewhere.

You can check using latest commit, with $globalDebug set to TRUE the output of spotter_daemon.php with the Check Country... string when there is a strange result. I don't seems to be able to reproduce the problem for now.

flights

Sorry should have included the table. Germany and its neighbouring countries are the most common flight - as it should be. But the last four countries are physically not possible. I will try to check as you described.

Maybe old false data... Country is calculated when spotted data is added, not after.

Ysurac avatar Dec 27 '16 18:12 Ysurac

I first checked the spotter databases and deleted flights outside my range. Then I deleted the wrong statistic data, updated to the latest commit and checked the geo data in settings.php Sofar no unexpected overflights have appeared. So maybe problem is solved
