Option for importing and exporting settings in wp-cli

Open rmens opened this issue 5 years ago • 5 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

When deploying a large amount of WordPress sites, it's a pain to go one by one to update or load settings. Making a preset and importing it while deploying would be useful.

Describe the solution you'd like

The option to import and export settings via a wp-cli command.

Why do you think this feature is something we should consider for the Yoast SEO plugins?

It makes the plugin appeal more to 'enterprise' usage.

Additional context

I work for a publisher that manages a fleet of WordPress websites (20 Yoast licenses on file). We are automating installation and deployment of WordPress as much as possible, but Yoast isn't very configurable in the automation proces.

šŸ‘ I would like to second this features request for the exact same reason. We have ~80 sites that all run Yoast SEO that we can't configure through our CI/CD process. It would save us a lot of time and effort if we could import the configuration through the wp-cli.

Same here. This would be a nice feature to have within Yoast, especially for CI/CD purposes.

Same. Trying to set up a CI/CD pipeline for 40+ WP instances, and the lack of wp-cli command to import settings is creating problems.

Three years later I’m still convinced that this would be a great addition. I’m curious if this is on an internal roadmap.
