Yoast SEO As Chrome Add-On?

Open dmcmulle opened this issue 6 years ago • 1 comments

Would there be interest in porting YoastSEO.js into a Chrome add-on for on-page SEO analysis? I've wanted to use it for custom HTML I write outside of WordPress and have not found any tools that come close to Yoast.

What would I need to do to get permission to release such a tool, or is it even viable?

Thanks.

Hi @dmcmulle thanks for your question! Yes, we'd love to do something like that at some point. However, I am not sure if we can find the time to build it ourselves anytime soon. If you would be willing to work with us on a prototype, that'd be awesome. I can offer you direct access to our team to help spec it and to provide you with code reviews and testing. We'd provide the repo and add you as a contributor. We've done similar projects where everything is basically open source and community driven. We only need to fully own distribution and product to have it under our brand and to guarantee the long term. Let me know how that sounds!
