Store view unique meta description and title not saving

When trying to override the meta description or title for a certain store view, the value is not saved. We also checked the database manually to see if the value was saved at all.

Also, there is no checkbox for "Default value" for those fields. Is that the expected behavior? The attributes are all on store scope.

We are up to date with the Yoast Module and using 2.2.7. No other SEO extensions.

Would love to see this issue resolved! Seems a bit hit a miss too. Some store view pages save fine, others do not. Any temporary fixes available? Can i input the data into the database somehow?
