User Consent Access Denied Error in Ubuntu 22.04 OS

Open mdshoaibumer opened this issue 10 months ago • 15 comments

Hi Team,

I have installed MeshAgents on Ubuntu 22.04 operating system. Desktop control is working exactly fine, but when user consent is enabled, access is getting denied automatically when I click on the connect button. Kindly find the screenshot attached below.

First Image is the screen where user consent is enabled and access is getting denied image

Second Image is the screen where user consent is disabled and we are able to access. image (1)

Note :

  1. MeshCentral Version - 1.1.21
  2. Operating System - Microsoft Windows Server 2016.
  3. NodeJS Version - 20.11.1
  4. There is no pop coming in the end machine for control access request.
  5. User is logged in and working.
  6. MeshAgent is installed with root access in the Ubuntu OS.
  7. With user consent disabled all features are working as expected.

@Ylianst sir, Kindly request you to help me resolving the issue.

just tried it on my ubuntu 22.04 and its working as expected? how do you enable to user consent? is it set for the user OR is it set for the group OR is it set for the device? can you share the permissions screen where you enabled the consent?

Hi @si458 ,

We are enabling user consent based on Device Group. Kindly refer below screen shot

Screenshot (59)

I did try enabling user consent for only that particular device but that also its not working Screenshot (58)

Screenshot (61) I have attached the screen shot from events tab too.

Kindly help in resolving this issue

Dear @si458 ,

Just for your information i have installed meshagent using Add Agent -> Linux/BSD -> I have copied the command and executed it in terminal with root previlage.

mdshoaibumer avatar Apr 24 '24 08:04 mdshoaibumer

thanks, im still scratching my head as it works here no problem? im assuming its vmware workstation u are using or esxi? it could be a graphics issues with vmware have you also tried installing any ubuntu updates? as im using 22.04.4 and ur only on .1 ?

si458 avatar Apr 24 '24 08:04 si458

Hi @si458 ,

Just found out that If i use Add Agent -> Linux/BSD/Mac OS installer and install meshagent using it then there is no problem.

But when i use it Add Agent-> Linux/BSD command and install meshagent then only this problem is observed.

mdshoaibumer avatar Apr 24 '24 08:04 mdshoaibumer

hmmm thats weird? all the script does is download the installer and run the install? will try and see if i can replicate it as i still cant replicate it

si458 avatar Apr 24 '24 08:04 si458

I will try with other Ubuntu Machines and will update here.

mdshoaibumer avatar Apr 24 '24 09:04 mdshoaibumer

Hi @si458 ,

The suspect here is that when iam trying to ask for consent then meshagent is crashing. Kindly verify this and let me know if any permissions need to be set.

I still can't seem to replicate the issue? So im abit stuck at the moment. Can u share the output from running info from the devices console tab?
