Collect and display idle time of primary logged in user on devices
When performing remote maintenance on devices, it is very helpful to see not only the time of the last system reboot, but also other information about the current user session such as logged in/logged out status, start time of current user session, and most importantly, idle time for current user session (probably based on mouse/keyboard input). Although the idle time might give the full picture of the device use, since the user might be streaming audio or video, this may be hard to detect and report. However, the logged in/logged out status and idle time of logged in sessions are good indicators of devices that are ready for remote maintenance.
Thanks for MeshCentral!
Hey I think tihs would be a great addition as well, being able to gauge whether the computer is in use to take control only when it's in use (or not...) :)
I'll take a look at the login time and idle time... But the login/logout status should already be there, in the general tab, under Active User. It should be blank if nobody is logged in, and it should display the logged in user if someone is... If you are referring to if the screen is locked, that should be there as well (at least for Windows). I'll have to ask Ylian what UI element that affects tho, I'm not sure how he's relaying that information. Getting lock screen status was unreliable for me on Linux becuase each distro and desktop manager does it differently.
I love the product but agree that having a feature that displays how many days/hours/minutes since last keyboard/mouse activity on logged in agents would be extremely helpful, even if it only works on Windows and Mac agents.
