Some questions and suggestions
I have some suggestions and questions that might allow for easier accessibility -
- Putting 0 under 8, instead of 7 as it looks more uniform and it's hard to navigate 0 when it's required everytime, i.e. swapping positions of decimal and 0.
- What's the use of comma? Like, I've no idea why comma is present? what's the use of comma?
- if comma is not used, can't it be swapped with Equal, and shift the entire right column down and put the backspace in the position of division? Like, for a 'long' device, it's hard to reach Clear everytime.
- If All Clear is implemented in Clear (Long Press), what's the use of AC? isn't it redundant?
- Why's the final value so small? Could the size of it be increased?
I can say something about the second point. In some countries, a comma instead of a period is used as a separator between the integer and decimal parts. I am from such a country. But I'm more used to using a period. The question here is not so much what the comma is for, but the fact that we have two buttons that perform the same action. And I think it's really a little strange. In my understanding, the choice of what you use to divide the integer and decimal parts should be in the customization settings with the ability to also enable the division of the number into digits (1,000,000 - one million). And the symbols should be selected based on the fact that you have a separator and whether you want to see the separation of digits at all
I actually understand the comma part, but the idea that both are present at the same time, is just a waste of space and UI. Like, settings can have a toggle to change between comma or decimal. And default can be decimal.
Also, I really don't understand why the final value is so small. Like, is the equation important, or the value? Couldn't their heights be swapped? Equation ain't that important compared to the result, but the final value is so miniscule in size, it's whack.
Can you send here a screenshot of what it looks like with information about your smartphone screen and model? On my phone (Redmi Note 13), the solution is larger than the equation.
Look at the font size of the two. Final value is so small, and the equation is humongous compared to it.
Samsung S24 5G - 1080 x 2340 pixels, (~416 ppi density). Can you send a screenshot of yours?
There seems to be a misunderstanding here. The comma is not here as an alternative to the decimal point separator. This doubt has come up so many times.
The (,) comma is for certain modes starting from I think 6th mode which have functions with multiple parameters, for example there's nPr(,), nCr(,), Stril1(), integral and diff, they require comma for separation, so if you like accidentally remove a comma, you might need to input it back(if comma isn't there you might need to input the entire function back again). But mostly, many users may not use those functions at all and the comma itself. But it is certainly not used as a decimal point separator here and hence it cannot be removed.
If All Clear is implemented in Clear (Long Press), what's the use of AC? isn't it redundant?
Why the AC button is present is because not every user may be aware of the long press clear and not every user would be comfortable since they might come from using different calculators, its just there for easy access.
And about font size, that can vary from device to device depending on the dpi, device font settings. Larger dpis have a slightly different layout where the expressions and buttons might appear larger. I will look into it with your device specs.
Like, for a 'long' device, it's hard to reach Clear everytime.
Ah I see, I will provide a setting later on to swap between clear and comma's positions if that's the case.
