Everything is broken
I'm assuming that this has something to do with the youtube layout changes but for some reason, the script covers over the video with a gray box so you can't see it and the options menu is completely broken.
I have to chime in to add; YouTubeCenter is all borked up as of yesterday. I cleared out all the temp files and cookies and I think it's even worse now. The config menu text lays on top of other text and it's a mess.
YTC is going the way of the dodo. https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/issues/2416#issuecomment-300151257 He's got something new in alpha but will probably be a while before it's ready.
I got it to work by going to my account icon in the upper right > then finding the "go back to Classic Youtube"
Even when I go back to the old version I get a white screen and only hear audio when playing a playlist video

there is no such option anymore. so it's just broken now, no alternatives.
YePpHa, if you see this, I'd like to thank you for YouTubeCenter. It made life so much more enjoyable and simple for many years. I know that YTC is now dead and I'm guessing it's because of youtube's actual changes to their platform or could be the work of gremlins. Either way, I want to thank you for supporting an excellent product for so many years. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
