Support forward slashes for virtual subdirectories
Proposed functionality
As a user,
I want to use forward slashes ( / ) in my custom URLs,
So that I can quickly and easily 'organize' short URLs.
Use case
When using a bookmarklet, I'd like to be able to include a forward slash to help quickly identify a short URL 'category'. For example: "www.yourls.com/y/rf2BB3E1eZA" would quickly tell ME that the link is a YouTube link. While "www.yourls.com/a/B0CR4GDWKT" would tell ME the link is an Amazon link.
This COULD also be extended to allow users to automatically create "virtual categories" in the Admin interface, by showing short URLs in a collapsible/expandable view, organized by each forward slash in a custom URL.
Potential solution
No response
On the surface, this sounds like it should be an issue under YOURLS/YOURLS. But it doesn't really fit in there, because this is "possible with a plugin". In fact, there is prior art available in the Awesome List:
- Allow Forward Slashes in Short URLs - Just as the name says.
It's explicitly marked as unmaintained ("archived" repo), but will likely still work with no-to-light edits.
