Open daimarmaghan opened this issue 5 months ago • 13 comments

I'm trying to do apple sign-in on latest xcodes app. It's failing each time.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Go to Xcodes -> Settings
  • Select General Tab
  • Select Sign-in, enter apple-id and password and click Next.

Expected behavior It should have successfully signed-in.

I'm seeing a variant of this issue at sign-in as well.

I am encountering this issue as well after updating to MacOS Sequoia 15.5 today, trying to install xcode 16.3 and re-signing in with my apple id.

if you log into https://developer.apple.com/account normally everything works and looks as it should?

Can you also try logging into https://account.apple.com and after that trying to log in with Xcodes.

Things have been working fine with my account as well as others, so there's something up with some apple accounts. The Unexpected character '< indicates that it's returning html and not proper json. The missing modelName error above leads to a missing or invalid TrustedDevice. Just making sure 2fa is set up on these accounts and the phone number is trusted/valid.

Seems to be working now. I logged into https://account.apple.com then tried xcodes again and I was successful with 2fa.

In my case/variant I do have a SMS second factor configured and am prompted with 2FA via SMS when signing in at developer.apple.com . However I don't have a trusted device. That is true. This is a secondary and a corporately mandated separate account from what I use on devices- I used to use a different account but it requires federated authentication now so it's broken in a different way ( #172 would address that ).

Signing in and out of account.apple.com hasn't made a difference unfortunately, though everything there works. So does Transporter and App Store Connect. So far, unfortunately, only XcodesApp isn't working.

I'm trying to find a device I can use just for this usecase but seems strange to be required just for XcodesApp.

Thanks for any help here!

signing into https://account.apple.com/ and retrying sign-in on xcodes resolved the issue. Thank you!

Seems to be account related. I have two Apple IDs and one of them doesn't work 🤔

(I have tried the above solution)

Hey guys, All of the above methods donot work for me. I have tried:

  • Signing into https://account.apple.com/ and signing to XcodesApp again.
  • Used a different Apple ID
  • Reinstalled XcodesApp
  • Sliently cried 😢

FYI all my accounts have 2FA Setup

Same for me. Cannot login to xcodes. Can login to the websites. Our company uses Microsoft to login to the managed apple accounts.
