Fast Forward / Rewind?

Open mtslzr opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Not 100% sure if this is specific to RetroDeck, but it's the only scenario in which I've noticed it. Running on a Steam Deck, and I can set the keys for fast forward/rewind (trigger by default), but they do not work in-game. I've tried changing the fast forward setting (from x0.0 to say, x2.0 or x3.0) and it doesn't seem to do anything. Is there anything in RD blocking it?

First download the [TEST] RetroDECK Official Controller Config from Steam in the controller options. Then you can find the hotkeys here: https://github.com/XargonWan/RetroDECK/wiki/Hotkeys#retroarch-hotkeys

Please let me know if you solve.

It did not... but also, it seems to be emulator-dependent. So in RetroArch, RT is bound to the fast forward hotkey (and RA detects RT just fine). When running a GB game, RT works as fast forward. But when playing SNES (SNES9x) it does not. So trying to see if there's a core setting I am missing?

I created my own custom hotkeys that work best for me. Had to create my own custom Steam controller config too. So two points to make here:

  1. You could do the same and get things to work exactly the way you want.

  2. If defaults change in a future version, that's OK but I want to keep my custom hotkeys workin.

TODO:

  • [ ] Evaluate adding a configurator option to globally enable/disable rewind on RetroArch + Standalones (for the ones that supports it) as it's impacting on the emulator's performance
  • [x] Add hotkeys
