Very cool project!
Been looking for an OSS 2FA app, and now I found it!
Please ping me when import from Authy is done.
@enoch85 just curious but what speaks against Aegis? It is much more mature I think

Well, I didn't look that hard I guess. :)

I agree, Aegis is one of the best 2FA solutions out there.
Ok, downloaded Aegis, will give it a try. Thanks for the heads up!
I think the design of this app is way better than aegis. Keep up the good work!
OK, so turns out I can't import without a rooted phone from Authy with Aegis, so this should be reopened.
Import from Authy or any other app will never be possible without a rooted phone. The app needs to have access to the other apps data and this is impossible without root.
One thing I miss in Aegis is the possibility to backup to cloud, for instance Nextcloud. Is that something you will offer with this app? I mean, If I loose my phone, how does a local phone backup help me? :D

I will most likely offer backup to Google Drive and/or other providers.

Just sync the backup directory directly to your Nextcloud. There is no need for authentication apps to support multiple cloud providers to backup to if you could just sync the files directly with the cloud providers app.

You can also enable "Participate in Android's backup system" in Aegis and use Android backups.
@DerRockWolf The strings in Aegis are all over the place. (I did try to do something about it just now.) Hopefully one of the 2FA apps will move to Weblate so there can be sensible translations.
You can also enable "Participate in Android's backup system" in Aegis and use Android backups.
Can that setting be made optional? (if added) I would like my data, even if encrypted, to stay just in my phone.

You can create an encrypted local backup and copy it to an encrypted USB drive.
