249: Obtain 2.49 projects from the commnuity!
To make a converter that can cover more than a decade of 2.49 use cases, we'll need a lot of test cases to look at how people actually used XPlane2Blender 2.49!
If you are willing to let me look at your source .blend files, please comment on this bug with an attachment, a link to some file storage location, or e-mail me or DM me on the forum or anything. As usual, if you have something you'd like to keep private, e-mail me and it will be retained securely and confidentially for only as long as needed or until you ask me to delete them. Your .blend files would only be used to help make the converter and will never be used for the development of any Laminar Research art asset.
We have over 180 .blend files in the OpenSceneryX Library project. Here's a file extension search listing them all: Find all .blend files in OpenSceneryX.
These were likely created in a wide range of Blender versions, so they may not all be useful to you, but it does give quite a pool of files to work with. I hope this helps!
Wonderful. This is just awesome. Btw, if you ever want to quickly know what Blender version a .blend file is, it has a magic string at the beginning of the file (BLENDER_V245 or BLENDER-v276) and etc. You can walk through and find the version of all of them quickly
No problem at all. Thanks for the info about the magic string.
BTW the majority don’t have animation but you should get a decent variety of models with different complexity. If you do need models with animation I can help point you at some from memory.
There's a open-source airplane project, https://github.com/ksgy/Antonov-An-2
Would be great, if new script will be able to convert it.
