New added contacts not findable in app

First of all thanx to everyone contributing to this fine Sailfish OS app.

After adding a new contact to the Sailfish OS app, this contact (knowing this person is using Telegram) cannot be found in the search to start a new chat - even after rebooting the device.

Contacts sync is not active at the moment as there is no way to get them and stay Jolla Store/Harbour-compliant. I'll keep this open until this changes...

In other words if you do a fresh install / account the app is unusable? I mean at that point you have 0 contacts and there is no way to send a message to anyone. I understand that there might be a problem with jolla but could we implement a workaround by allowing to start a chat with someone by entering their phone number directly?

Something like "start new chat by entering their phone number" as another way to start a chat. It wouldn't be pretty but at least you could send messages.
