Moving the "is typing" indicator off of the profile icon?

As it is right now, when you have a conversation window open with another user and they are typing, it shows the little animated "..." over their icon.

This can be very hard to see, as the white blends in with quite a bit of colors. Would it be possible to move this indicator off to the side, perhaps beneath the name, instead of over the icon?
