Inform that RegExp uses JavaScript's syntax in the options window

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened this issue 9 years ago • 4 comments

How do we know which codes and commands can be used in regex in foxreplace.
Without knowing the characters and their formats, we can't use them properly,
or it is a long hit and try.
please provide a list of regex that is usable in forreplace substitution table.
if there is website or mailing list about discussion on this tool, please
provide link of that to the add-on page on mozilla site.
Thanks.

It is not a defect. please change that to a "suggestion".

Well, it's linked on the help page: it's the JavasScript RegExp syntax. But
maybe I could also add a link or tell it somewhere in the options window.

The new firefox UI does away with the menu bar so the Tools menu and thus the Help is very hard to find now.

It would be very useful to have a link to the help page on the preferences panel and even a link to the regexp page on the edit panel. Right down next to the "more info" buttons would be a good spot.

@Copyrites The menu bar can be shown by pressing the Alt button.

Regarding your suggestion, since I will have to reimplement all the UI from scratch for WebExtensions, I will take it into consideration then.
