Counters on import page are inconsistent

Open dschuessler opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

If reporting a bug:

  1. Can you describe the problem and bug in more detail? The website counter on the import page goes higher than there are websites supposed to be in the first place. bildschirmfoto 2018-09-28 um 22 05 22

  2. How can we replicate the issue? I don't know. I just noticed while using Memex the first time and wanted to let you know. I'm using Firefox 62.0.2.

  3. Expected behavior (i.e. solution) The number on the left side doesn't go higher than the counter on the right side.

Thanks folks for making us aware. AFAIK its not a critical issue. it still imports everything. But we have it on the map. We are just missing a bit of development power right now :(

Thanks! This is a great way to communicate your status and priorities 👍

Btw, just to give you a bit of context: When total progressed went beyond 1.0, I thought it's probably never going to finish and is going in a loop. I was ready to hit pause before it finally finished. So from a user's perspective, it might look like a critical bug.

I suggest adding a tooltip or something there that explains this, so users don't drop out just because of this one glitch.

Looks like this is still an issue, fwiw: image

Happened to me when I clicked "Pause" and then "Resume." The "Bookmarks" one had completed (2016/2016), but the history one had not. When I clicked resume, the history went down to 199, and then both started counting up to the numbers you see there. I've since paused/resumed again, but nothing jumped around that time.

Thanks for the update. We never got around fixing it because it isn't a critical bug. Still all is imported. Happy for any contribution if someone wants to take this up.

Should be relatively straight forward.
