post GUID field is not updated when importing.

What?

All import posts maintain the original GUID except for the media attachments. Should the GUID field of the newly created posts be updated when using the importer?

I believe part of the historical reason for this, is that it used to be common to use the guid to get a public URI to the attachment, instead of using the wp functions.

That's not something that I think would matter today.
