Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 10 million people who are committed to creating a future where human rights are enjoyed by everyone. Amnesty has a vision of a world where everyone can enjoy the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights mechanisms. To achieve this vision, the Amnesty mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of these rights.
Developed by Big Bite, the Amnesty International WordPress theme, aptly named Humanity, is driving a global movement of collaboration and providing a platform that ensures everyone’s voice is heard. Amnesty has a reusable product that can be used with ease, irrelevant of the user’s coding experience. The theme enables the human rights organisation to freely share code, blocks and custom plugins across the wider movement, fostering a community of support and collaboration.
Reason for Submission
The theme and plugins were open sourced in 2024 and are available under the GPL license from the GitHub repository. The theme supports 17 languages and is used on 47 sites and welcomes contributions.
