[6.7 HelpHub] Post Author block deprecation

Open carolinan opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Issue Description

There is a plan to deprecate the Post author block in WordPress 6.7. The existing blocks that are already placed will continue to work, but users will not be able to add the block again from the inserter.

See this issue for the details https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/55352 Please re-check this issue closer to the release of 6.7 to confirm that the plan was followed through.

Section of Page with the issue

Why is this a problem?

When the block is deprecated, the page will be outdated.

Suggested Fix

I found the following example of a page for a deprecated block: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/button-block/

And this list should be updated: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/blocks-list/#deprecated
