  • [ ] Add a keyboard shortcut to create group from the selected blocks 46972

General

  • [ ] Make sure all screenshots are relevant to the latest version
  • [ ] Make sure videos, if any, are up to date
  • [ ] Add ALT tags for the images
  • [ ] Make sure the headings are in sentence case
  • [ ] Convert all reusable blocks to a ‘regular block’.
  • [ ] Update the changelog at the end of the article

Notes

  1. We are not adding detailed updates for the Block settings - Typography, Color, Layout, Dimension and Border and for the More Options setting in the block toolbar. Pls mention the settings included for the block and link to the detailed settings pages instead.
  2. Some of the PRs have great videos that can be added to the article.

Under https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/group-block/#converting-multiple-blocks-to-a-group-block

Replace:

"You can also create a group by selecting multiple blocks. Multiple blocks can be selected by dragging your mouse. You can also select multiple blocks by holding down the “shift” key and using your navigation arrows or clicking on multiple blocks. Once one or more blocks have been selected, you will notice that the group icons will appear. You can click on these icons or use the “more options” button to convert them into a single group, as seen in the video below:"

With:

"You can create a group by selecting multiple blocks in several ways. One way is to drag your mouse to highlight the blocks you want to group. Alternatively, you can hold down the "Shift" key and use the arrow keys or click on each block to select multiple blocks. Once the blocks are selected, group icons will appear. You can click on these icons or use the "More Options" button to combine the blocks into a single group. For a quicker method, use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + G on Windows or ⌘ Command + G on Mac) to instantly group the selected blocks. Check the video below for a demonstration."
