Canny Edge Detection and Contours

Open Sneha421 opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

A .ipynb file that takes an image and does the following

  1. Convert it to grayscale
  2. Perform Gaussian Blur
  3. Perform Canny Edge Detection
  4. Obtain the contours of the image

Contours provide for a variety of applications in Computer Vision. I would be delighted to work on the same. Thank you!

Hi Sneha, thanks for suggesting:

  1. Converting to grayscale is done
  2. Gaussian Blurring is added
  3. Canny Edge Detection is remaining; Please feel free to add it :)
  4. Feel free to add the contours section to the cheatsheet too.

Do remember to add it by 31st Oct if you want it to be included under Hacktoberfest.

Hey @varchanaiyer! So I mainly wanted to perform contour detection and for that to be efficient, steps 1 and 2 are necessary. I was thinking of adding all 4 points in one PR, that is one .ipynb file. Is that fine or should I make 2 separate PRs for Canny and Contour?

Can you just make 2 separate PRs for Canny and Contour? You can try checking out the existing code and using it with that! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yes sure! I submitted the PR for Canny yesterday. I will finish the contour one by today
