Query playing note on a specific channel for sequenced formats (MIDI, tracker modules)

Hi! Is it possible to know if a note is playing on a specific channel? I looked into the .h header file, and seems it's not the case (or I missed something?). I looked into libXMP and libOpenMPT, and there is a way to retrieve this data, and more.
