use pdf instead of chm for documentation?

Low priority issue! .chm seems to be a odd and slowly dying format? On Linux I had to install chm2pdf converter to view it but I suspect it is not rendered correctly - it is readable but looks rather ugly. Perhaps pdf is a more suitable and portable format?
