I believe that the introductory documentation should talk about pragma WAL

The performance difference when write ahead log is turned on is astonishing, and many users will never think to go looking for such a thing. The readme is the likely source of most starting points, and does not mention this.

You do have documentation on the topic which is clear and unambiguous, but I believe most people won't actually find that.

I have offered a pull request which tweaks the readme to include a mention of this topic, and links to your existing documentation on the topic.
