[Request] Pellucid Support to Show Artwork

Open bastianilso opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Hi!

Really happy with AEL, now that I have set up my standalone games in it - however, I was wondering how to get the artwork (posters, fanart, icon etc) to show up - I guess the Pellucid theme which I use does not support it (I dont even know if Pellucid support "Games" in the first place). I saw that you did do a Mod of the estuary skin, but couldn't get an overview of how you added support for these items. But perhaps you could give me a clue? :cowboy_hat_face:

Thanks! -Bastian

I'm glad you got AEL working. Unfortunately I cannot give support to every Kodi skin in the wild. First, I'm not a skinner, I'm a Python coder. Second, Estuary AEL is just a very simple mod to both showcase AEL and help with the development of the addon.

If you want to try and mod Pellucid for AEL please have a read at this post in the forum. Also, it could be a good idea to go to the Pellucid subforum and ask for help there. You can tell thedeadman, the developer of Pellucid, that the views developed for AEL can be used once Kodi gets the games database almost without change.

Also, if you decide to do the mod yourself, creating a simple view from scratch, having Estuary AEL mod as example, could take a few hours even if you haven't done any skinning before. Just be careful and make backups, if you edit the XML code of the skin in place (in the Kodi installation dir) once Pelucid is updated your changes will be overwritten.
