[Feature Request] Add native file manager
The native winfile is a pain on higher resolution screens. I do video editing in Insta 360 Studio in Wine, and as such I navigate to files often.
Apparently, getting wine to use your native file manager is a matter of a small wrapper script and a registry edit: https://gist.github.com/maotovisk/1bf3a7c9054890f91b9234c3663c03a2
It would be awesome if this sort of thing was part of winetricks, with the native file manager detected or selected and then just working in the wine prefix.
What do you think? Is this a feature worth exploring for winetricks?
Changing filepicker in wine not as easy as you'd like it to be. This shouldn't be a question on winetricks at all, there should be a directed effort to shame wine as a project that they decided this status quo is still "viable", well turns out it wasn't for years now. People should pester Wine project directly for this. Their entire explorer shell is a broken mess. I share the same pains as you.
If someone really want to try doing something about this, then the only viable solution should be to detour/image hijack the filepicker dialogue functions with a shim .dll that'd replace wine's functions.
