Location pane on binary compare
Hi, today I just found your fork of WinMerge, nice work. When I do a binary compare (for example of two jpeg files) there is no location pane. Could you please implement this, so that you have a location pane in binary compare mode please? I need this quite often to have a quick overview what parts of a bigger file has differences. Thank you
Thank you for the feature request. I will add this to my TODO list.
Thank you. Another thing, when opening a folder for compare I wanted to compare some jpg files in that folder in binary mode instead of the default image mode when double-clicking them. So the only way I thought this could work is by going to the options and removing all file extensions from "Compare -> Image" and add *.jpg to "Compare -> Binary". But this did not work as expected. How can I set the default to always open pictures as binary, but with the optional option as the image compare?
EDIT: Oh I found the bug, when you leave one field empty (the image list) it seems to use the default values. EDIT2: But now I'd be missing an option to "Compare as: Image" in the right click menu for example.
Hi sdottaka, just a small off-topic (no need to create threads for a simple post ;) )
Inno updated language files to 6.0.0 (download of this version will likely be available soon) so it might be a good idea to update winmerge too if something can be useful for you http://jrsoftware.org/files/istrans/ ;)
Thank you for the info.
sdottaka - you're welcome, btw, could you please add the english files for inno and readme at the bottom of the translations' page? http://winmerge.org/translations/?lang=en
it's easier this way because we can use the updated english files to compare with our languages. ;)
There should be now a link the English InnoSetup and Readme file at the translations page.
@gerundt Thank you!
have this request been resolved on latest version? I'm using v2.16.12.0 but location pane on binary mode is not displayed. I really need this function for binary diff.
Unfortunately, it has not been implemented yet.
