Auto-merges command line option

From my understanding the command line options /al and /ar found here: https://manual.winmerge.org/en/Command_line.html should Copy All to Left Image like the button on the GUI, yet they appear to do nothing. And google searches with these commands or their descriptions brings up nothing of use. Regardless, I can't seem to be able to find a way to solely use Winmerge from the CLI for my use case.

I have multiple game mods break often after game updates, and I have filters to omit the specific parts I need to keep the mod when merging to the games new files, but manually going through and simply opening mine and theirs, then clicking "copy all to left" seems easily automatable.

Is there a way to use all of winmerge's functions solely from the CLI, rather than just open the files? Am I misusing the /ar commands? Are there solutions for my problem here? Winmerge is exactly what I need when combined with it's line filters. I have looked around, but can't find much of what I'm after.

The command line options '/ar' and '/al' are effective when comparing three files. On the toolbar, they correspond to the Auto Merge button below. Unfortunately, there are currently no command line options equivalent to the Copy All to Right and Copy all to Left buttons.
