Feature request: edit in diff pane

In terms of cursor interaction, almost everything seems to work in the diff pane: you can place the cursor into it and move it around, select, copy, change insert mode, and the source windows status bar line/column even get updated... but you can't type/delete or otherwise edit in that window.

It would be useful to also edit the text in the diff pane windows and have the relevant document/content be updated.
