iNDS 2.0
It appears that @WilliamLCobb has created an iNDS-2.0 branch, and since it's recent, we can all expect one thing: BUGS. Let's go with what I've been able to find in the new iNDS 2.0 update:
- DeSmuME in iNDS is being upgraded to 0.9.11, and JIT is in the works. That means a bunch of problems found in 0.9.10 will be fixed, and better performance for all devices.
- iOS 9.0 is required. If you have iOS 8.4.1 or lower, you need to upgrade.
- The new interface is incomplete and is not responsive. You can still run ROMs, but none of the buttons will work.
- There's a ROM that comes with the application. @WilliamLCobb will probably delete it soon before copyright law steps in and takes us down.
- There's no settings, and no ability to surf the web.
Now here's a list of everything we might find in iNDS 2.0:
- A complete DeSmuME upgrade, with JIT that works on 64-bit devices without jailbreak.
- A new interface that we all are familiar with.
- Any problems found in the old iNDS, it will probably get fixed.
- A new logo will probably be made, unless we choose to stick with the old one.
This list is subject to change. Feel free to make suggestions if you choose to. Last edited: January 20, 2017 at 12:51 PM CST
Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to reconstruct the layout from the old iNDS. So far, I haven't learned much, but I'll figure it out.
It appears that @kpwn has found a way to allow developers like us to actually use JIT on our devices without crashing. I'll see if I can find a way to utilize this. Also, a Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10-10.2 has been released, which can be found here. You can update your device to iOS 10.2 (hurry up before Apple stops signing it) by downloading the IPSW from here, but make sure you are downloading the correct IPSW for your device.
Update to the previous comment: 10.2 is now unsigned.
That's not good. At least I saved my SHSH blobs. I'm going to test this JIT fix that qwertyoruiop made, and hope that it works on the current version of iNDS. There's an iNDS 2.0 with DeSmuME 0.9.11, but the buttons don't work.
I'm currently working on nds4droid, which is an open-source (and ad-free) emulator for Android devices. I'm doing an upgrade, but I'm using an experimental SVN build of 0.9.11/0.9.12, and 0.9.12 IS a milestone. I haven't heard from these issues in a long time. I'll think of something to revitalize this.
So, here's what I've been able to get so far: I can't edit this project in Eclipse, but I CAN edit it in Android Studio. The problem: Both my development fork and the original project can't compile! How can the creator of nds4droid make version 47 of nds4droid if it's not even possible to compile it?! How does this make sense?!
Will the iNDS 2.0 play Roms smoother? Also a suggestion, on GBA4iOS there is a option to play the game on a tv and have the controller on the phone, iNDS 2.0 should have the same
@WilliamLCobb Is there any particular reason for the migration from iOS 8.x to 9.x? Are we using 9.x+ exclusive features now?
Please, IOS 7.1.2
@n1dminhd, iNDS is basically SUPER inactive at this point. @WilliamLCobb is most likely working on something else (which is probably college).
Based on his recent activity, he has put a lot of work into a private repository. From a few conversations I heard, I have reason to believe he is working with Riley testut to merge iNDS into a future version of Riley testut’s upcoming Delta Emulator.
I got an internship at Blizzard for the summer. I'm going to start back work once that's over and I have more time. And yes, I'm going to be working on Delta from here on out, not iNDS
Congratulations on the internship (I’m a fan of overwatch), and in general, thank you for all your contributions to this community. These thousands of lines of code would not exist without you! I personally can’t wait for the public release of delta, it is becoming such a refined emulator incredibly quickly.
So does that mean iNDS 2.0 will not be coming out hereafter? I really want to play Mario and Luigi Bowsers inside Story on it and some other memorable games.
