Fails to detect public IP

I'm using an ubuntu VPS. This proxy fails to detect my public IP and returns a private ip like 10.10.X.X

It shouldn't matter and still proxy connections fine. It's for cleaner logging and reporting but today the forwarded public ip is irrelevant to the proxied protocol
