Making An Official Chart?

Open jbdoto opened this issue 5 years ago • 6 comments

Would you consider publishing an official chart to a public helm repo?

I can help if you need a hand.

Thank you!

Hi @jbdoto,

I have not objections to doing so. I've never done that but imagine there's not too much barrier to entry. If you want to share some relevant documentation on getting the helm chart listed publicly I'll give it a read. Feel free to submit any PR's that might be necessary during the process.

Thanks for reaching out :D

Hi @ericuldall,

Sure yeah...so there's a few ways to do this it seems.

You could host your own repo, and get it indexed by http://hub.helm.sh:

https://helm.sh/docs/developing_charts/#hosting-chart-repositories https://github.com/helm/hub/blob/master/README.md#how-to-add-your-helm-charts

Or add it to the helm official incubator repo: https://github.com/helm/charts#contributing-a-chart.

Seems like getting the chart added to the official repo may require more a little more rigor, but maybe that's good.

I'd love to help out however I can. Check those links out when you have a chance, and if you'd like to pursue something further, let me know and I can lend a hand.

Thanks for the info. I'll review this a bit and update in a day or two.

Hey @jbdoto. Still haven't gotten around to doing an in depth review here. Sorry for the delay.

Hey no worries, whenever you’re ready, let me know.

Hey. Is this something you guys are still considering? An official chart would be very handy.
