Support glossary entry suggestions by lay users
I'm using Weblate 4.4.2 deployed on weblate.documentfoundation.org.
I'm not a member of any language team there, but I do occasionally suggest translations. I would also like to be able to suggest additions to the glossary and changes to existing glossary terms - but this is not supported.
I wish the dialog(s) for adding to the glossary would be partially available to lay users, so that instead of an actual addition you make a suggestion, to be reviewed by language team members.
@eyalroz Fairly sure that is an admin setting for glossary translations. It is possible on Hosted. I don't understand why suggestions for source glossary terms (or sources for translations) aren't always allowed.
Right now unregistered users can make suggestions for strings that normally allow direct source changes by users, and not at all for projects that are all read-only source. (Even with "Turn on suggestions" on) in settings/project/compoent/#translation
If being a team member solves your issue, you can ask for rights at [email protected] or send me an e-mail and I'll give you the contact info of the person I asked :)
@comradekingu : my email is on my GitHub profile page...
@comradekingu : Also, you say "fairly sure". So, is it an existing setting, or isn't it?
This issue has been added to the backlog. It is not scheduled on the Weblate roadmap, but it eventually might be implemented. In case you need this feature soon, please consider helping or push it by funding the development.
@eyalroz If it works on one instance and not the other, it would have to be either an older version, or exposed in the instance admin settings. Sent an e-mail now with guilhems e-mail.
Edit: I can make entries for nb_NO. You can ask to join language groups, or as an alternative make comments to that effect.
You can suggest translation to existing glossary terms, but can not suggest new terms to glossary.
