Download in ODS file format
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Supporting ODS is as useful as Office Open XML. #1879
This issue has been added to the backlog. It is not scheduled on our roadmap, but it eventually might be implemented. In case you desperately need this feature, please consider helping or funding the development.
The issue you've reported needs to be addressed in the translate-toolkit. Please file the issue there and do not forget to include links to any relevant specifications about the formats (if applicable).
I am requesting TDF to cooperate. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136906
I just came across the same/similar issue today. Someone wanted to transalte an XLSX file on our Weblate installation. Since the configuration was not obvious to her, she saved the file as ODS and created a new component via Translate Document. Everything worked just fine, but when she was finished and wanted to download the translation, Weblate would generate a file with extension ODT which she could not open in Word. -> I simply renamed it to ODS and it opened perfectly in Excel.
So maybe it is not really the translate-toolkit which needs to be modified, but just to maintain the original file name extension when generating the translation file for download?
I think there are two different topics here - translating ODS files works, but might have issue you describe, but the original topic was about exporting to ODS, what is still not present.
OK then. Do you want me to open an issue about the file name extension? Not a big issue and you are busy already enough, no?
The extension should be preserved as of e0417b03cb
