Switch between languages using a dedicated menu

Open yarons opened this issue 5 months ago • 5 comments

Describe the problem

Sometimes I'm being directed to a term different than my localization language and switching to this string in my language requires either changing the URL or going back to the component and select a different language.selecting

Describe the solution you would like

I wish there was a small arrow next to the language name in the top breadcrumbs allowing me to switch the language to another language in that project just like Wikipedia does.

Describe alternatives you have considered

Modifying the URL manually or using the mouse to go back to the project and switch to the desired languge.

There is Other languages tab which shows you other languages while translating.

This issue has been put aside. It is currently unclear if it will ever be implemented as it seems to cover too narrow of a use case or doesn't seem to fit into Weblate.

Please try to clarify the use case or consider proposing something more generic to make it useful to more users.

Possible yet cumbersome.

As for the navigation, I'm not sure if the dropdown in navigation should do the thing you describe. To me, it would be more natural if this would lead me to the translation overview page. Such an approach could extend the navigation in all levels, not only while translating.

It's not instead, it's an addition, clicking the text is the language overview for the component, clicking the arrow will open the menu.
