It seems to alert even when it's permitted. I think this has become more of an issue since Firefox 38.

Current status as mentioned in https://github.com/Webconverger/webconverger-addon/issues/58#issuecomment-120815441 is no prompting. Which can be quite confusing ! I'm not sure how to fix this since AFAIK Firefox doesn't have asynchronous notifications?
