[bikeshed] Issues with content blocking on Safari

Open samuelweiler opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

The FPWD at https://www.w3.org/TR/2022/WD-wasm-core-2-20220419/

Seems near empty, with a table of contents pointing at a different document: https://www.w3.org/TR/2022/WD-wasm-core-2-20220419/intro/introduction.html

And those two documents have conflicting sections. e.g. the latter, in section 1.1, says it is the product of a CG.

Do you happen to view the doc with Safari? I had the same problem, but the document renders correctly if I turn off content blocking (e.g., via "View/Reload Without Content Blockers"). If so, this apparently is a problem with the W3C templates pulling in some analytics. I believe @ericprud is trying to figure out what can be done about that.

@rossberg, I used a Chromium-based browser.

Okay. Perhaps you have some active content blocking in your browser as well?

Can you post a screen shot of the page? And do you see any error message in the JavaScript console? For example, in Safari I get:

[Info] Content blocker prevented frame displaying https://www.w3.org/TR/2022/WD-wasm-core-2-20220419/ from loading a resource from https://www.w3.org/analytics/piwik/matomo.js (fixup.js, line 358)
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () (tr-outdated-spec, line 0)
