Phase 4: Copywriting Review
Overview:
This stage ensures the hero section messaging is concise, audience-specific, and action-oriented. Talent and Client audience should feel immediately understood and guided, while maintaining brand voice.
Objectives:
- Craft distinct value propositions for Talent and Client.
- Write CTAs that inspire action (e.g., “Join as Talent” vs “Get Started as a Client”).
- Keep copy short, scannable, and conversion-focused.
Deliverables:
- Version History: Documentation of changes from original copy to proposed copy (If there’s any).
Acceptance Criteria:
- Phase 3: Wireframing must be completed before proceeding with this task (Phase 4).
- All key text elements must be clear, concise, and purposeful, including: - Content Elements: Headlines, sub headlines, body copy. - UI Elements: Labels, buttons, links, placeholders, and Call-to-action (CTA) text.
- Copy must be free from: - Grammatical and spelling errors - Overuse of jargon or unclear terms.
- Messaging must: - Align with our brand personality, project goals, and the approved design direction. - Be consistent with the tone and language of existing site content. - Avoid contradictions or confusion with previously published copy. - Be inclusive and culturally appropriate for all audience types.
- Content must meet basic readability standards (e.g., appropriate sentence length and word simplicity).
- Annotated alternative text for images must be included (following W3C accessibility standards), if applicable.
- Must be presentable and easily shareable within the team.
- Must be presented to and reviewed by the team for feedback.
- Must receive approval before moving to the next phase.
Next Steps:
Proceed to Mockup Creation (Phase 5)
Hi everyone! @dami-boy and @briangesteban, I'm going through the acceptance criteria for this sub issue for the PRD update and I see that it is now Phase 4 instead of Phase 6 (last phase) as is indicated in the technical details section of issue #272 (Redesign of Homepage Hero Section). Is there any reason why this is the case?
Hi @Ruky-Ericson,
Dami told me he already shared this with the rest of the PMs. I've suggested this change on the design process sequence to make sure that after the Copywriting Review we wouldn't need to update the rendered mockup anymore. That's why we moved this after Wireframing.
Old Design Sequence Suggestion:
Phase 1: Brainstorming -> Phase 2: Sitemap & Flow Chart Creation -> Phase 3: Wireframing -> Phase 4: Mockup Creation -> Phase 5: Prototyping -> Phase 6: Copywriting Review
Updated Design Sequence Suggestion:
Phase 1: Brainstorming -> Phase 2: Sitemap & Flow Chart Creation -> Phase 3: Wireframing -> Phase 4: Copywriting Review -> Phase 5: Mockup Creation -> Phase 6: Prototyping
Hi @briangesteban, thank you for the clarification. Yes, Dami shared a snapshot of the updated sequence, but I missed it.
@dami-boy, you may need to update issue #272 technical details with the new sequence. I will also do same on the PRD so our documentation is aligned. Thank you.
Hi @Ruky-Ericson, issue #272 updated. Thanks
Ok
