Feedback on the new tournament formats
[EN] This is my first time posting an issue. I tried out the new tournament formats on my YouTube Live, I feel fantastic.
Now, I noticed a few things while using it, so I note them here.
-
Currently, for both Arena and Organized tournaments, when two or more players have the same number of points, the tournament performance is "the tie break". But what exactly is this tie break? Is it the rating within the tournament? Or the match results between the tied players? Writing the specifics would help participants understand better.
-
In Professional Mode, some players mentioned that “the piece guides covering the entire board are distracting.” I guess it should be possible to turn these guides off such as the Premoves.
-
When creating a tournament, if the duration is too short, it says “needs to come ‘at least’ 20 minutes,” but strictly speaking, we can't create one for exactly 20 minutes.
Thank you for the excellent update.

Thank you for the feedback!

Oh, seems that tournament performance is not correctly set in organized tournaments, thanks for making me aware of this - will fix soon. Tournament performance is based on the rating of opponents you defeated - if both players have the same points, the one who defeated opponents with higher ratings gets the win, I will put it into FAQ. But since this is not getting calculated for organized tournaments - the player with higher rating will win the tie break right now.
BUT tournament performance also doesn't seem like the best option for organized tournaments. I'm open to ideas, maybe just the rating like it's now isn't so bad, we could also go by join order like in round robin.
In Professional Mode, some players mentioned that “the piece guides covering the entire board are distracting.” I guess it should be possible to turn these guides off such as the Premoves.
Agreed, but having an option specifically for professional mode might be too much. Having too many options becomes quickly overwhelming. The reason I decided to show all squares as highlighted is to prevent accidental moves, when players just want to unselect a piece. I also wanted to make it clear that something is different - users can have pro mode games and non pro mode games mixed in "Playing right now" (since corres tours are allowed now). But maybe having it like this would be nicer - highlights visible only on hover:
Maybe also make the selected square a different color, to make it obvious that players need to be careful:

Thanks, I will fix that, I will also loosen the conditions a bit more.
